Sam Burgess faces fine over NRL ‘kangaroo court’ comments

England forward Sam Burgess faces a possible good after describing the National Rugby League (NRL) judiciary process as a"kangaroo court". The South Sydney captain made the remarks for yanking Sydney Roosters centre Billy Smith's hair September 5 after receiving a one-match prohibit. Burgess pleaded guilty to the behavior fee which ruled him out of a 30-6 loss on September 13 to the Roosters. "Who is making the calls here?" Burgess stated. "Is there a discussion before these forecasts go on the market?

I really don't understand. What is the process? It's just like a kangaroo court in there." Burgess triggered a response . The team's chief executive Todd Greenberg stated:"On face value, Sam's remarks about the judiciary breach our code of behaviour and are offensive to the chairman and members of this panel that carry out their duties impartially, without fear or favour. "We have a pragmatic view about the majority of the debate that occurs around the sport. "But the NRL judiciaryis a longstanding and individual procedure depending on the principles of natural justice in our court system. "Our seat is an esteemed judge of the highest calibre and our panel members are former high-profile players who are independent from nightclubs. The integrity of the machine and the people in it shouldn't ever be contested." After agreeing to match with the Rugby League Players Association and Greenberg, burgess is anticipated to explain his remarks next week. Read more here: http://zurichexpats.com/?p=15320
