Newport County’s Ryan Inniss given five-game ban for biting
For biting, the FA has handed newport County defender Ryan Inniss a five-match ban.
Inniss was sent off for violent conduct in an EFL Trophy game that County lost 5-4 to West Ham U21s on Wednesday, September 4 and has been billed.
The 5in centre-back, online from Crystal Palace, has been dismissed late to the episode which involved Hammers left-back Reece Hannam.
An FA statement :"Ryan Inniss has
announced that a breach and been suspended because of his following five first-team competitive matches by an independent Regulatory Commission.
"The normal three-match ban which would ordinarily use was clearly inadequate."
Speaking after the match, County boss Michael Flynn admitted he could not shield the loanee.
He said:"Their player said he got humiliated, so I will take a look at that and learn what happened.
"If he has bittenhim, it's inexcusable and that I won't be fighting his corner."
The 24-year-old, who is now from Selhurst Park on his inaugural loan deal and has captained the reserve side of Palace, will miss the matches against Carlisle, Macclesfield, Exeter, Swindon and Northampton of Newport.
