Newport County’s Ryan Inniss given five-game ban for biting

Newport County defender Ryan Inniss was handed a five-match ban from the FA for biting. Inniss was sent off in an EFL Trophy sport that County lost 5-4 into West Ham U21s on Wednesday, September 4 and has been billed last week. The 6ft 5in centre-back, online from Crystal Palace, was dismissed late on for the incident which included Hammers left-back Reece Hannam. An FA statement read:"Ryan Inniss

has announced that a breach and been immediately suspended due to his following five first-team competitive matches with the individual Regulatory Commission. "The standard three-match ban that would usually apply was clearly insufficient." Speaking after the match, County boss Michael Flynn admitted he could not defend the loanee. He explained:"Their participant said he has humiliated, so I will take a look at that and learn what happened. "If hehas bitten him, it's inexcusable and I will not be fighting his corner." The 24-year-old, that is from Selhurst Park on his loan deal and has captained the book side of Palace, will miss the games from Macclesfield Northampton, Exeter, Swindon and Carlisle of Newport.
