Diamondbacks vs. Brewers MLB Pick – August 24th
Last night, the Arizona Diamondbacks came to Milwaukee with no interest in playing. The Brewers acquired out early into a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning and held on for an easy 6-1 victory. Merrill Kelly had an off night to the Diamondbacks. Kelly finally finished with 8 hits and 6 earned runs allowed in 4.1 innings. The Brewers are nearer, but 3 games back for a wildcard and 3.5 back of the Cardinals in the NL Central.
The Brewers will need to find hot soon. They have to cope with, it is not an easy road, although that doesn't sound like a great deal of matches. The way Zac Gallen has been pitching this year, I'm not sure the Marlins are thrilled about investing him away. It was a prospect for potential bargain and the Diamondbacks are seeing instant results. Gallen was strong with the Marlins, submitting a 2.72 ERA and seven starts. As he's improved since departing Miami, the commerce has not seemed to bother him a bit. It has only been three begins because a Diamondback and Gallen was effective with a 1.80 ERA in 15 innings.
Having said this, Gallen's resume has never been fully sterile. Yes, he let only 3 earned runs in ten innings. But a closer look suggests that heneeded to work hard from jams to make that potential. Against the Rockies, Gallen allowed 9 hits and a walk in 4 innings. He had been lucky to get from Coors Field with just 2 earned runs allowed.
The identical thing occurred in his next outing. He gave up only 1-run in 6 innings, but got into trouble . Gallen lasted 5 hits and 6 walks, even as his command was a bit all over the area. That may catch as much as a pitcher .
Gallen's opponent tonight is currently coming from his outing of the year. Chase Anderson never had it contrary to the Nationals, as he was rocked for 9 hits and 10 earned runs. Anderson pitched well, without allowing more than 3 runs in a game with ten games.
He allowed 2 or less eight out of ten. Anderson has been very good against the Diamondbacks from the past, as they are hitting just .214 with 1 home run.
